The beam of light that comes from the laser varies in the frequency and wavelength which may lie in the region of the IR which can effectively kill the fungi.
Different tests are being carried out to find out the actual potential of the lasers. A group of people were taken and the tests were carried out. Approximately 76% of the people having the infection were treated successfully with proper re-growth of nail once again. This test continued for half the year and the result was revealed.

There was featuring of ‘PinPointe’ in the news broadcasted by the ‘Fox’ affiliate in ‘Manhattan’ showing its positive results curing nail related problems. It was Dr. Stuart J. Mogul who revealed the laser in the broadcasting said about the device which he used in 4 different persons costing around $1,200 each. He also added that there are no other dangers except the financial burden. The representatives of ‘PathoLase’ told him that there the device was approved and had no problems in using it.
In the official website of ‘PinPointe’, it was written as ‘FDA cleared’ which was endorsed by different chorologists in California and claimed that he had the lasers used for half a year tested on 225 sufferers.
The FDA cleared the equipment in the year 2001 only for the usage in the fungus treatment in teeth. But the head of the ‘PathoLase’ stated that the doctors could freely use the device for any other purposes after the clearance.
Since there is no proper regulation of the practice of medicine by the FDA, the physicians use the medicines or the devices that are authorized for different activities which they consider to be correct.
But the devices that are made for the treatment of particular thing should be used for its treatment only as said by the director at the “Center for Devices and Radiological Health”. Permissions are not given to use those devices for other use. It is considered to be illegal if without approval the equipments are used for next activities. He also warned the company to stop the promotion and sales of such things and if continued they are to be charged with fines or even seizing of the products.
The company was sent with emails and messages querying about the progress of the product but they were not replying and they were offline.
Each year approximately $1.26 billion is spent on the drugs and medications for the treatment of the fungal infections as revealed by the IMS Health which is a company that provides information about the health. Besides this, the ineffective solutions in home such as ‘Vicks VapoRub’, ‘Listerine’ and ‘Clorox’ are used spending billions of dollars. The effective treatment can raise about $3 billion each year.
Those with the nail fungal infection which is also ‘onychomycosis’ gets spread when you walk without shoes in the room which can enter inside the skin from the tiny pores. Even while removing the shoes and the shocks, there is spreading of the fungus.
The fungal infection can even affect the cuticle. The diabetic people with weak immunity are likely to be exposed to greater risk from the problem. Most of the people want to treat it to look cosmetically better. This is one of the major problems of the Americans that are not solved as said by the dermatologist Dr. Elewski at the ‘University of Alabama’ at ‘Birmingham School of Medicine’.
